Alpha Xi Delta

Beta Sigma

Alpha Xi Delta is a national women’s fraternity that was founded on April 17, 1893, at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois. As one of the oldest women’s fraternities in the United States, Alpha Xi Delta promotes personal growth, leadership, academic excellence, and community service among its members. The organization is deeply rooted in its core values of sisterhood, leadership, knowledge, and service, and fosters a strong sense of belonging and lifelong friendship.

Alpha Xi Delta’s official philanthropy is the Kindly Hearts Initiative, which encourages chapters to support the needs of children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness in their communities. Through volunteering, fundraising, and advocacy, members are empowered to make a meaningful difference.

With chapters across the country, Alpha Xi Delta continues to inspire women to realize their potential and contribute positively to the world around them. West Virginia Wesleyan has housed the Beta Sigma Chapter since October 18th, 1947.
