Kappa Tau
Theta Xi was founded on April 29th 1864 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Theta Xi was founded by 8 men who were part of the Sigma Delta society at RPI, but when the society split in 2 the founders set out to create a new society built on trust and unity for all. Theta Xi currently has 44 active chapters throughout the United States. The Kappa Tau Chapter at WVWC was founded in 1955.
The official philanthropy of Theta Xi is Habitat for Humanity, an organization dedicated to building homes for families in need within our community. To support their efforts, we raise funds through events like Duck Hunts, where participants donate to throw water balloons at brothers, and Strawberries for Sweethearts, a Valentine’s Day tradition where we sell chocolate-covered strawberries to the Wesleyan community.
The chapter house is located at 97 S Kanawha Street.
