Kappa Alpha Order

Beta Chi

Kappa Alpha Order was founded December 21, 1865. It was established by four students of the institution James Ward Wood, William Nelson Scott, Stanhope McClelland Scott, William Archibald Walsh at Washington college Lexington, Virginia. They had a vision of creating a fraternity based upon the values of chivalry, honor, and excellence which our values that guide our brotherhood today.

The Beta Chi chapter was established in 1929 and has been the longest standing fraternity with no mergers here at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Since then we have built a brotherhood focused on leadership, service, and personal growth.

The Independence Fund raises money for veterans that are in need of physical, mental, and spiritual help. Our chapter holds a golf tournament every spring that raises money for a veteran to receive an All-Terrain Track Chair that can help them get back to outdoor activities that they love.

The chapter house is located at 90 College Avenue.
