Chi Phi

Delta Xi

The first Chi Phi fraternity was founded in 1824 at Princeton University. However there were two other Chi Phi fraternities that were founded in 1858 at the University of North Carolina, and in 1860 at Hobart College. In 1874 these three fraternities agreed to join one another to create the oldest national fraternity. At West Virginia Wesleyan Chi Phi started out as the Delta Xi fraternity founded in 1961, a few years later in 1965 the Delta Xi joined the national Chi Phi fraternity to become the Delta Xi Chapter of Chi Phi.

The American Legion is a strong organization that we are proud to call our philanthropy. The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization providing support for veterans who are homeless, facing mental struggles, disabilities, and more. We are not only making a difference through our charitable donations to the American Legion, but by also forming connections with our fellow students and wider Buckhannon population.
