Alpha Sigma Phi was founded on December 6th, 1845 at Yale University. Alpha Sig is considered one of the oldest Greek organizations. There 181 active chapters of Alpha Sigma Phi. West Virginia Wesleyan College has been the home of the Beta Nu chapter since 1933.

Alpha Sigma Phi proudly supports five national philanthropies: RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), Shatterproof, Hazing Prevention Network, Active Minds, and Homes for Our Troops. To raise awareness and funds for these important causes, our chapter hosts 24-hour stand outside the Campus Center in addition to hosting musical performances and bake sales throughout the semester.
